Beaches in Seminyak Area

  • Double Six – This Seminyak beach is close to Legian and is one of the busier spots with plenty of beach chairs, sunset bars and sarong sellers found all around. It is also more popular with tourists as it is known to be one of the safer beaches to swim in. The surf breaks tend to be shallow and are excellent for kids and people learning to swim or surf. The sand here is flat and the ocean is free of corals. So, if you want a safe beach, you should definitely consider visiting this one.
  • Petitenget – This beach tends to be a lot more popular with locals. It is found near the Pura Petitenget temple and La Lucciola restaurant. This beach is ideal for sunset views and picnics because it is very clean and well maintained. It is important to take note though that this area is considered sacred and Balinese ceremonies are held here so you cannot be seen swimming or tanning in your swimwear. Make sure that you are dressed decently when visiting this beach.
  • Batu Belig – Beaches in Seminyak can be crowded but this one is excellent if you are looking for a beach with fewer people. Here you can enjoy sunbathing and swimming in your bikini without any fear. However, the waves can be rough and there is an undercurrent, so make sure to swim within the designated swimming area that lifeguards have flagged off.
  • Berawa – This beach is even quieter and less crowded than Batu Belig. Just walk further north from Batu Belig, cross a shallow stream along the way, and pretty soon you’ll end up here. If you’re an intermediate or more experienced surfer, you’ll enjoy playing in these waters as the surf here is excellent. However, if you’re only a beginner, it’s best to just sit back, relax, sunbathe, and enjoy a drink while watching the pros surf.

Visiting a Seminyak Beach is definitely one of those things that you must do while in Bali. And with the beaches being so close to each other, you even have the option of hopping from one beach to the other. If you fancy some alone time, you can also opt for exploring and finding hidden beaches that you can have all to yourself.

Enjoy the sea, sun and surf as well as the amazing sunsets that are so unique to Bali. If you stay in Colony Hotel, consider yourself lucky as the beach is so close to you!
