2. Canggu

Canggu is a great spot for all levels of surfers whether beginner, intermediate or expert. It offers both right and left-hand breaks, and the waves are consistent throughout the year. Popular areas for surfing in Canggu include Echo Beach, Old Man’s, Berawa, Nelayan and Batu Bolong. Head out in the early morning and late afternoon for the best waves.

 

3. Kuta

Kuta is a great choice for those who are just starting out. There are many surf schools on Kuta Beach, and surfing here is fun and relaxing. The waves here are smaller and gentler, and the beach has a sandy bottom free from sharp corals, which is great for beginners. There are also plenty of surfboards for rent on the beach.

4. Nusa Dua

It might come as a surprise, but Nusa Dua has a few great spots for surfing. Despite the calm glassy waters along the coasts, beginners and intermediate surfers will be able to find a few gems to ride the waves in including Pantai Mengiat and the waves closest to Waterblow. There are also plenty of surf schools here and places where you can rent surfboards.

5. Seminyak

During the dry season, surfers can expect clean and groomed waves. The swells are typically consistent, ranging from 3 to 8 feet, with the biggest waves arriving in June, July, and August. This season is known for its clear skies and sunny days, low humidity and minimal rainfall.
