Satisfy your sweet tooth at Seminyak’s best dessert spots

06Apr

If you’ve been in Bali long enough, you must know that there is more to Bali than palm tree fringed beaches and stunning natural beauty. It is also a haven for sugar, spice, and everything nice.

This week, The Colony Hotel Bali takes you on a sweet adventure to Seminyak’s finest and most happening dessert spots.

If you’re one to always make room for dessert, make sure you pop into Poule de Luxe for their gorgeous choux pastries. Ranked number one on TripAdvisor, the desserts they serve are more on the sophisticated end while keeping prices affordable. The menu ranges from cream puffs (IDR 20,000/piece), macarons (IDR 25,000/piece), to gluten-free chocolate fondant (IDR 40,000). The Patisserie and Bakery also cater for restaurants, villas, parties, and weddings.

Word on the street is that this locally-sourced vegan ice cream parlor is one of Seminyak’s most Instagrammable spots, known for their striking pink ‘Ice Ice Baby’ neon sign. Serving a selection of non-dairy ice cream and artisanal popsicles, all Mad Pops products are constructed consciously with top quality and healthy ingredients. Their popsicles are healthy vegan treats containing no preservatives or additives. To top it all off, they also provide a dairy option of soft served ice cream!

Did you say handmade artisanal doughnuts freshly made every day? Head over to Dough Darlings located on one of Seminyak’s eat streets for your daily dose of doughnuts. It definitely won’t be your usual doughnut run with the staple chocolate sprinkles or jelly filling. You’ll find original flavors, such as vanilla blaze and cinnamon sugar, but if you’re feeling adventurous, have a go at their unconventional options like the Strawberry Mojito, Matcha Black Sesame, or Thai Tea Cream Brulle Bomb Bomb.

4.Biku

For a more elegant setting, go for a high tea at Biku. Their tea lounge serves daily-changing cakes, quality coffee and tea, and plenty of quiet corners to drown yourself in a book. Offering three different renditions of high tea choices (traditional, Asian, and breakfast), Biku also doubles as a home-wares and bookstore. Even greater news, their kitchen opens from 8 am to 11 pm daily with breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus but they are most-loved for the high tea and desserts!
